Jack:
Yesterday (August 26), Jack scored the first 2 goals in the first quarter of the first soccer game of the season. GO Jack!!
About Jack's third day of school I asked him if he had received any homework yet. His hopeful and excited reply, "Nope! I don't think they sell homework in first grade!"

Another First
After Jack's second day of first grade he lost his first tooth, also another first in our household. It was just barely hanging on last night and I told him that if he went to sleep with it that loose then he might swallow it if it fell out in his sleep. He really wanted to keep the tooth so that was enough motivation to keep him up until he got it out. He wouldn't let anyone touch it, and didn't dare to just pull it out, so it was slow work. It literally was attached to a string (he could twist it all the way around) and he still wouldn't just pull it out. I hear he's just like his dad was with this kind of stuff. :)
Yeah! Finally (after it being loose for months!) he got it out. He was so excited! He wanted to keep the tooth and made sure that we knew to tell the tooth fairy to leave it. He insisted on taking it to school to show his friends. Gross!
The flowers were Jayci's touch. :)

Jack goes to first grade!
Today was a day of firsts here. It was Jack's first day of first grade, his first day of all day school, and his first time eating lunch at school. He got to take his lunch box to school for the first time, which I think he was most excited about. He's so darn big, grown up, and handsome! I can't believe it.
It was also my first time making a school lunch, ever. Jack's request for his first school lunch: peanut butter and banana sandwich, grapes, cheese and crackers.
He came home from school happy, but didn't care to report much. I had to ask specific questions but still got vague answers, but he did say his teacher is really nice, he went to three different classes and liked all the teachers, someone made his tooth even more loose (tried and tried to get more info on this one but to no avail! Weird...), he ate and liked all his lunch and it kept him full. Typical boy. :)
Love you Jack! I'm proud of you!
