Caribbean Cruise!

On our way, flying over the Grand Canyon.

Our flight from SLC to Phoenix was great.  It was short, sweet, and comfortable.  From Phoenix to Fort Lauderdale, Florida was a different story.  Our pre-booked seats got messed up and nobody in our group was together.  In fact, I think that all 18 of us got put in middle seats, so nobody was even sitting with their spouse.   I got scrunched in between 2 heavy ladies, and Jess was on the other side of the aisle in between 2 men.  The flight was about 5 hours, which was uncomfortable enough, but the last hour and a half, maybe longer, was straight turbulence.  Jess and I both had our barf bags ready.   I didn't get up at all and my legs were squished into the seat in front of me.  Bleh, it was so awful!!!

After spending a night in Ft. Lauderdale our whole group of 18 scrunched into a shuttle van and made our way to Port Everglades, where the beautiful Crown Princess was awaiting us.  As this was our first cruise, Jess and I were so excited, and just in awe at the magnitude of everything.  Those ships are massive!!!

Finally made it to our room. So exciting!

We were so excited to have a balcony room.  Did I mention this was all free to us?  We felt sooo spoiled!

We were still ported so then we just went exploring.

Here I am saying my last goodbyes to my babies as the ship started to pull out.

We set sail into the sunset.  Adios America!

Day two:
As our luck would have it, we sailed into another storm.  After the plane ride from hell and this, we were quickly discovering just how motion sick we can get.  Right before we left home we went to the pharmacy to pick up some prescription patches for motion-sickness but declined to buy them when we found out our insurance wouldn't cover them, thinking we'd be ok with Dramamine.  I was definitely regretting that decision that first morning.  After rocking and rolling all night we woke up puking.  We didn't even get out of bed until 2 pm.  Luckily we were out of the storm by 3 and the seas were calm again by 4, so with the help of Dramamine we were able to get up and ready for dinner, which was our first formal night.
