Xander at 18 months

I've said it before, I'll say it again today.....I love one year olds!  They are just the sweetest little creatures alive, and Xander is no exception.  He is at such a fun age where he's super intuitive, interactive, curious, delightful, sweet, forgiving....practically perfect!

Xander turned 18 months almost 2 weeks ago.  His short life up to this point has flown by in what seems a blink of the eye, but I do feel like I've really tried to absorb all the I can of it.  I have taken so many moments to rock him, read to him, let him sleep on my chest, play cars and trucks with him, watch him run around outside, feed him, kiss him, and love on him.  I wish I could slow down time and let him stay this age for a bit longer.

Favorite things at 18 months:
-BLANKIE!! (Most fav.  Carries it around every chance he gets, and still finds the tag to hold when he's going to sleep)
-Binky
-Ba-ba (warm milk bottle)
-Cars, trucks, and most things that go
-Board books, especially about cars and trucks (though he loves most books, his very favorite is a foam book with foam cut-out pieces of fire-trucks, tractors, airplanes, etc.  It's funny that I bought that book for Jack when he was a baby, and neither Jack nor Jayci cared much for it, and now it's practically destroyed because it's so well-loved by Xander.  It's so interesting how different each child is, and how they gravitate to their favorite things all on their own.)
-Applesauce, yogurt, fries, jam and nutella (or pb) sandwiches, fishy crackers, life cereal with milk.  Has become a very picky eater recently and won't try many new things, especially dinners I make. If he doesn't like it he'll just throw it on the floor.  The floor under and around his high chair is usually disgusting. I think he's been my pickiest eater at this age!
-Water sippies
-Baths
-Riding in daddy's truck
-Loves to put things on his head, especially Jayci's headbands, helmets, and bowls.  See pics below.
-Loves to torture Moe. (Sit on him, pull his tail, fur, ears, wiskers, chase him around.  All in good fun for him, but not so much for Moe.  Thankfully Moe takes it well and will just go hide when he's had enough).   We are working on being soft.  Hopefully he gets it before baby comes!
-His most ticklish spot is his neck.  I can always get the best giggles there!

Frequently used words:
Mama
Dada
Ha (Hi), said with two syllables, the first in a high-pitch voice, the second is lower.  "Ha-aa". He sounds like a southern lady!  And when he says hi, he makes sure to stick his head right in your face to make sure you see him and acknowledge that he's saying hi to you.  Cutest. thing. EVER!
Ha Mama
Ha Dada
Moe (more)
Ah Gah (all gone)
Ah duh (all done)
Uh-oh (until just a few days ago he used to say "uh-uh" for uh-oh, but just started defining the "oh" part.  His mouth goes into a cute little o when he says it.
Doo-doo (thank you)
By-Poe (diaper)
Na-na (banana)
tzeez (cheese)
be-be (blankie/binky)
ba-ba (bottle)
mimics lots of other words we say
Makes several animal noises.  His first was cow.  (His moo was done in a soft, gentle voice, like he was mimicking a cute, sweet, maybe even tired cow. )  Now he does pig, horse (very funny!), cat, sheep, maybe more that I don't remember.

Loves his books!

Not just a box

I had to snap this picture.  One day he brought me his little church boots and wanted so badly for me to put them on him.  He was giddy with excitement when I did and wore them around the house all morning!
