Xander is just at that cute age where I seem to think that everything he does is picture worthy. Just bare with me :). He is pretty darn cute though, even with his dirty "camping face"!
I had been out running errands trying to prepare to go and somewhere along the way I missed a phone call. It wasn't until I picked the kids up from school, noticed the bandages on Jayci's hands, and was tearfully informed that the school had tried to call me because she monkey-barred a little bit too much at recess, resulting in some pretty nasty blisters and wanted to come home, that I noticed my missed calls and checked my messages. In the message the school nurse said that Jayci was very distraught (who, Jayci?!? I can imagine!) and wanted to come home, but the nurse thought she'd be ok to finish the day at school. Jayci, in a way that only Jayci can manage, told me that "this is the worst day of my life!"
Anyways, that's was part of the fun we had to deal with while camping. Keeping them clean and dirt-free was pretty much impossible. Ouch!
Jack spent much of his time shuffling through the dirt trying to see how big he could make his dust clouds. Oh, boys! He did this for so much time that his shoes never completely recovered.
Jayci's modeling her bandages.
Of course puddles, ponds, streams, (water in any form) are always a great form of play and entertainment.
A couple in a razor entertained the kids by seeing how big they could make their splash. The kids kept cheering, yelling, and laughing so they'd do it again for their audience.
This is the boy who almost never falls asleep anywhere besides his crib but was just too exhausted by the end of the day and zonked out when I set him on the couch.
Here's some of the gorgeous fall scenery we enjoyed.
