One step at a time

I did something tonight that I haven't done for a really long time. Something good. I've been running almost everyday for a couple of weeks, sometimes morning and night, and tonight I ran two miles without stopping and sprinted the last 50 meters. I know it's not enough to officially call myself a runner, but it feels really good to me. I got a pretty good resistant workout at the same time because it's pretty windy tonight and I was pushing bob (bob the dualie stroller) which has large weather covers that caught and resisted the wind (like an upside-down umbrella). The wind was blowing diagonally across the track so half of my run was pushing against the wind, the other half was pushing me along.

Why the excitement? Well first of all I've been out of shape all winter. Second, I recently was shocked to learn that I'd gained 8 pounds in a very short amount of time, and had already been slowly gaining. Unfortunately this is the largest I've EVER been, not counting pregnancies and just after. So now it's time. Passed time. Time to get over my love affair I have with food. especially carbs. Dang those carbs, I LOVE them! Time to get my healthy body back and feel good. Tonight I feel good.

WAY TO GO! I mostly ride my bike with Ryan for exercise but the other day I tried running. I am weak but with a partner I think I could do better. If you ever want a running partner please let me know. I am not in super shape but I could really use it.

Sorry Jill, I say keep the eight pounds. It's worth it if you don't have to give up carbs :) I'm kind of kidding, you feel better when you feel like you have taken care of your body. One of these days I'm sure I'll get around to doing something about mine :) Although I will never give up carbs :) Meat though, that I could do.

That's awesome! You can't even tell you have gained any weight! I'd totally trade you your eight for my 20!! Good luck with the carbs. I have been trying for weeks, It's a love/hate relationship that i am willing to work at :)

Good for you Jill! I also have a love affair with carbs. They just don't love me back-just ask my thighs! Chad and I might go to Catalina in Augest, so I need to get off my carb filled butt and follow your example :) Plus, when you exersize, don't you just feel so much better about yourself? I think that I need to follow your example. good luck with it all :)
