Jayci's Parties

This year I chose not to have EVERYONE at our house for a party. Our family just keeps expanding but my house does not, so it just seems to get too crowded and crazy Instead we had a small family party on the evening of Jayci's birthday to do presents and cake, and the next day we went to the park where Jayci, Jack, and all their cousins could run as much and as wild as they want.

Just waiting for cake.

We aren't big cake eaters, so this is the extent of my cake making this year. Jayci was very pleased with the frosting and pink sprinkles!

I was quite proud of myself for not going overboard with toys and presents. I thought long and hard about what to get her that wasn't toys, but that she'd still love, and I must say I was successful. From Mommy, Daddy, and Jack she got rain gear and Fancy Nancy dress ups. From everyone else she got darling summer clothes and a wheelbarrow. Jack was a sweetheart and loved 'helping' open presents. He got a new umbrella too. (That's just a battle I didn't want to deal with, plus I knew they'd have so much fun playing with them together.)
In the middle of the party we had a little incident involving this. Our neighbor's truck got a little friendly with Jenny's car. Sorry Jen!
By the end Jayci was ready for some peace and quiet. (She's really faking here, but still tuckered out)

The next morning after Jack, Austin, and Gracie finished preschool, we were off to the park for a picnic party.

Sorry Jenna, had to post it! (Jenna locked her keys in the car just as we were leaving for the park! I have to say Thanks! I do this all too often, so it's great to know I'm not the only one!)
After a long wait, and lots of laughs, we finally made it!

Jayci LOVES to swing! This was her favorite part
I had to take a picture of her ultra-long legs
I
It was too windy to light the candles, but she didn't care, as long as there was frosting to lick!

All the gang. (Not pictured: Me, Grammy Tammy, Jenna, half of Sarah's head)

*Thank you everyone for making Jayci's day wonderful!*

Happy Birthday, Jayci! I cant believe she is two! She is so cute. If I ever have a girl, she is the one I want her to model after! She is so prissy!

How fun to have all of those little cousins and friends around to celebrate with.

That's funny about Jenna and her car. I would NEVER do anything so absent-minded. She certainly doesn't take after me-haha!

That stinks about your front door. We had to do the same thing with a bedroom door but we didn't get the cute new doorknob out of it. It's never looked quite the same since the incident. :(
