Jack turned 5!

(awhile ago...oops!)

Jack celebrated his 5th birthday....only 6 months ago!   I have felt sad that I never posted anything about it, especially because of the big deal I made out of Jayci's birthday last year, but on the actual day of his birthday (August first) I was about 8 weeks pregnant and feeling it.  I was pretty sick this time around, starting just before Jack turned 5.  I still planned a fun party for him but had a really hard time the day of, and pretty much gave up blogging for several months after that, which is why the event is getting documented on his HALF birthday.

Jack's birthday was on a Sunday so we had a little dinner party with both sets of Grandparents at Grandma and Grandpa Elies' house.  The day was beautiful, if a bit rainy.

Here's the men enjoying the August rain

Jack, thinking the table will keep him dry

Jayci, doing what she does best, getting as dirty/wet as possible, but looking beautiful doing it

All who were present, minus Grandma Kristy, Grandma Janice, and me.

I think one of Jack's very favorite things in the world is Grandma Kristy's homemade rolls.  Just like his dad, he can consume a surprising amount!

Jayci LOVES corn!

Jack wanted to have a pirate birthday so after dinner we had 'buried treasure cupcakes', chocolate cupcakes with a mini reeses cup baked inside.

Notice Jess being Jess...

We all love Uncle Alex.  To Jack, he's like another Grandpa.

I had lots of fun downstairs making Jack the coolest train track ever! :)

There's more to come, but yes, right now the pregnancy excuse is coming out again!  That's all the computer time my big belly and heartburn can handle.

Happy Half Birthday Jack!!! (Even though you have no idea, since we don't normally celebrate half birthdays :) We love you!!

He looks so handsome! And I hear ya on the prego sickness! The blogging can definitely be put on hold. Mine did when I was pregnant with Mia.
Hope you're feeling good now. You're gettin' close!

You have a very good excuse to wait so long to post this! It looks like such a fun party! I love having family all around me on birthdays. I love the rain too. I miss the rain. Jayci's little blue dress is adorable. She looks like such a little doll in it. I wish they had one in my size :)
