It's a little bit surreal to me, even 2 weeks later, that my "baby" is four. It really is amazing how fast time flies (except the last 2 weeks of pregnancy...). Although she is so grown up, some things about her haven't changed! Like all the pink girlishness in this picture, and the fact that she's getting more dress ups (for the third year in a row) and a bigger box to put them all in.
And hopefully something that will never change is the special bond that Jess has with her. Every year he gets her flowers and makes her feel so special on her birthday. This year Jess woke her up, surprising her with them. Sadly I missed her face on camera, but it was the sweetest. I know it makes her feel like a princess.
My opposite-of-shy girl actually got a little bit shy when we sang to her in the morning.
The look on Jayci's face (below) when she opened her all-pink glitter light-up tennis shoes was priceless! Jess made the comment that she'll crash into everything now because she'll never take her eyes off her feet when she's walking.... and he's right!!

We typically don't eat much sugar cereal here so letting the kids pick out a box of any kind of cereal they want is always exciting! Lucky charms has been the favorite for the past couple of birthdays.
We also got a surprise on the front porch in the morning. When Jess left for work he noticed it and called to tell us to open the front door, and there on the porch was a beautiful rocking chair with balloons tied to it, and a box. It was from Uncle Alex, who made the chair and has had it sitting in his basement for the past 20 years. While Jayci loved the chair, she was just tickled that someone got her balloons, since Jess and I didn't this year. Alex also gave her a darling outfit. She's wearing the shirt in these pictures.
